All too often blueberry muffins are a disappointment. Blueberry muffin recipes are often too dry, not fluffy enough, stained violet, or all the berries sink to the bottom. The struggle for the perfect blueberry muffin led me through a gauntlet of unhappiness and bad muffins, but I am happy to report that I won the battle. When I have overnight guests I like to treat them to something special for breakfast. Usually that means I break out the cast iron skillet and fry some sausage, use the drippings for sausage gravy that is poured over buttermilk biscuits and served with some fried eggs and home fries.
